Avocados "Instead of using a whopping dollop of mayonnaise on your sandwich, try using thin slices of avocado, better yet try making homemade avocado mayo! This avocado mayonnaise recipe below is both paleo and keto. Avocado oil is a great healthy fat, being rich in oleic acid (a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid). The carb count of avocado mayo is extremely low. Another bonus is that it’s only about 8 calories per tablespoon.

Avocado Mayonnaise 2/3 cup mashed ripe avocados 2 tsp apple cider vinegar (white vinegar can be replaced) 2 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp onion powder 1/8 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 cup water 2 tbsp oil (avocado oil), or additional water for a low-fat mayo Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add more water if a thinner mayo spread is desired. If you want plain or not a spicy mayo, leave out the crushed red pepper flakes or bring on more heat feel free to add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne. Homemade avocado mayo will keep in the fridge for about 7 to 10 days. It’s not as long as store bought mayo, because there are no preservatives. Does not freeze well! Trust me.
